Abstracts and Oral Presentations

(1) Abstract layout and formatting

Set all margins of both Chinese and English abstracts to 2.5 cm. Use DFKai-SB for Chinese text and Times New Roman for English text and numerals; scientific names must be italicized. Chinese abstracts are limited to 300 Chinese characters and English abstracts to 250 words.

  1. Use 16 pt type and 1.5 line spacing for the paper title.

  3. Use 12 pt type and single spacing for authors, affiliations, and keywords.
  4. Mark the presenting author or poster contact author with a superscript asterisk (*).

(2) Oral presentation equipment and files

Oral presentations must use PowerPoint on the venue computer and projector; personal computers cannot be used for playback. To ensure a smooth session, submit presentation files by USB drive at check-in and do not rely on network transfer.

(3) Oral presentation timing

Each paper is allotted 12 minutes: 10 minutes for the presentation (one bell at 8 minutes; two bells indicate the presentation must end immediately) and 2 minutes for discussion.

English-language presentations

To encourage international exchange, participants in the 2027 Annual Meeting and scientific conference are encouraged to present oral talks and posters in English. English-language presentations may receive additional consideration during judging.

(4) Judging and awards

  1. The Annual Meeting will hold both the Student Poster Competition and the Student Oral Presentation Competition. Awards will be determined according to the proportion of poster entries and oral presentations in each field. Each competition will generally recognize first through third place, with additional honorable mentions as appropriate. All awards will be presented that afternoon. Eligibility requires the first author to be a student or a recent graduate.
  2. Winning entries receive bilingual certificates and cash prizes: NT$2,000 for first place, NT$1,500 for second place, and NT$1,000 for third place. Honorable mentions receive bilingual certificates.
  3. One participating author from each winning oral presentation must collect the certificate and prize and present identification.
  4. The top two entries selected in each topic area will be invited to present at ISFMB 2027. Registration fees for invited presenters will be waived.
